This time of year.

I love this time of year. Halloween is my favorite Non-Holiday-Holiday. I have decorated my front porch very spooky, but have not gotten any treats for trick or treaters yet because, well, I will just eat them.

But this year it is a sad time as well.....

The husband and the boy are going to Egypt on Thursday. We have really been gearing up for that. We went to wal-mart and bought lots of clothes for each of the kids. That was fun, but my husband was kind of stressing over it. We got it done in like 1.5 hours. That is shoe shopping included, so I am happy, and so is my spouse.

I don't know what I am going to do with three weeks of "me" time. It will be strange. I think I will work a lot and build up the xmas fund. That is if I can stand to do it. I don't envy Amr traveling with the boy to Egypt. That will be hell, by himself. I came back with him when he was 2 months. Hard to maneuver, yes. But he was 2 months. He slept ate and pooped then. Now he has this whole personality to deal with and I think I will be a challenge. Not that he isn't a pleasant child because he really is. But, lets be realistic here. a 16 hour air trip is hard on adults, and time goes by faster for us I think. I can't imagine how it will be for Ayman. (Amr too, for that matter) Let's not over think it shall we? It is hard enough as it is.

Well, time to go to bed, I just got off work. One more night to go and I am done for four glorious days. I hate the fact that I am going to the airport to see them off because I know I am going to cry and I don't like to do that. Oh well, so be it.
Hopefully I will be writing again on Monday with some pictures from my moms exploits at the exotic erotic ball. I will keep you all posted. I am also considering guest blogging over there but you will just have to check there yourself to see if I do.
nighty night.

How very Halloweenie. Posted by Picasa

Quality Grampa Time and 22 Months.

I dont know why this link is here. ignore it.

 Posted by Picasastyle='border:0px;padding:0px;background:transparent;' align='absmiddle'>
On Friday at around 11 am my dad called and asked "Can Ayman come out and play?"
He wanted to take the boy for a while. Me having to work that night, and always down for a break, gave a resounding "YES." So my dad came and got him. They were gone for three and a half hours. When they got back at around 2:30ish, I was surprised by many things. First, he took him over to Wal-Mart and got him a new outfit, including shoes. No small feat. (hahaha) Then he took him over to the photographer, and had his picture taken, in the aforementioned new outfit. I don't have a scanner to show you the pictures, but let's just say that my baby boy looks like a big boy. I can't believe it. My husband saw the pictures and said, "What is he like, 10 years old now?"

 Posted by Picasa
After the pictures were taken, They went to have a wonderfully-delicious-and-so-good for-you meal at Carl's Jr. (Hardees to you all in the east) Ayman got a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory trick or treat bucket. Then they came back home. All this was done, might I add, with Petie the Westie traveling with them, in his doggie carseat, which was right next to Aymans baby carseat. If the baby carseat is in the car, but no doggie seat, Petie will sit in the baby seat. Even if there is a baby in it. He is good like that.

So, when they came home my dad had him in this outfit, which is just a modification of what he took the pictures in. I love it when little kids wear overalls with no shirt underneath. It is so cute. I actually have some pictures of my brother Alex and I in Oshkosh biballs taken by my uncle Jim When we were like 5 and 2 ( I am the oldest.) So I couldn't help myself, I got all snappy with the camera. But hey, what are they for anyway?

Then as I was making this post, I looked at the date. It is time for Aymans 22 Month post.
So lets talk about what you have been doing this month, shall we? Well, for starters, it is your second Ramadan. When Daddy goes to the mosque in the evenings, when Momma is at work, you go with him. Unfortunately, he cannot stay for the Taraweeah. You have become very comfortable in the mosque so you will be "making all kinds of noisy" as daddy puts it, and doing things you should not, like playing with the water dispenser. For a couple of trips Daddy brought little animals for you to play with, (thanks gramma) but that only holds you over for a couple of the prayers raka now. You are making a lot more noises now, all kinds of different sounds. Maybe talking is just around the corner for you pipsqueek. And finally your most irritating, yet funny, (sometimes) action this month is.....(hold for fanfare) Throwing things in toilets. If mommy or daddy leave their bathroom door open you will chuck anything you can get your hands on into the toilet. You and daddy went to the bay area to visit this weekend, and he told me that not once but twice you went into Tanta Hagas bathroom, and threw all the stuff in the toilet. The second time you did it daddy himself had to take everything out of it and wash it off. Today though, when daddy went to get some gas, and I was making this post, you decided to go chuck some stuff in our toilet. Again. Today, it was an entire roll of toilet paper, one of my scrunchies and a little box. Too much fun.
Well I suppose that is it for now, this is a really long post, all for you.
Mommy and Daddy love you, Baby.

The Moods of CPK

I think maybe we eat at the California Pizza Kitchen too much. A couple of times ago when we went, Ayman and I walked in so I could order carry out. The hostess said to us, "Well, we haven't seen you two in a while!" Then the boy marched right past her and on to the carry out counter. He was very focused that day. On this day however, Ayman , my mom, and I were dining out on the patio. It was a very nice day not too hot or anything. I brought my camera and snapped some pictures. It was funny because my mom had her camera too, and at one point were both taking pictures of the boy. People must have thought we were total idiots. And hey, I admit it, I am. I have like 1000 pictures of this kid on my hardrive, and guess what? I am pregnant again, and ready to take more pictures, because the camera my dad gave me kicks ass!

Moving On....

And now a pause for a Tweeker Update. "Sandy" still has not reported to work. The LOA has been extended to the 10th of October, which will be Monday or Tuesday or something like that. I don't care enough to look at the calendar. I also found out that she is actually on a LOA because she got in a car accident, and supposedly (supposebly, for you mom.) got a hairline fracture in her hip. I guess that makes her lucky, she is getting that sweet disability pay so we know she is going to milk it, and when she does come back to work she is good to go for at least a couple of nights of "I have to go home, my hip hurts" (right before morning rounds, mind you) and of course, the soon-to-be popular: "I cant come in tonight my hip hurts" I wonder if they still sent her to counselling for her behavior like they were supposed to before this crap went down. And, for those of you who work with me you know what I am talking about, but for those of you who don't I am sure it seems like I am being a petty bitch. So be it. Work with this woman, walk the mile, and you too, will see.
It is all too convenient.

Well that is it for now-Take it easy folks.

Always Posing.

That sweetbaby squinchy face. Posted by Picasa

Kathy Griffin Is Hilarious.

Ok, I hope you guys watched this womans' show over the summer. It was awesome. She is so real and funny, and she works damn hard.
Well, my mom sent me a link to her website so I will toss it on in here too. Here it is: Kathy Griffin.net Enough of the gushing. But if you can catch the reruns of her show, please do so you will get a whole new look at Hollywood (or not, it is shallow people.) And, a hearty appreciation for how this woman earns her living. She is real.
OK, enough of that.
Yeah, I haven't blogged in a while. I admit it, I suck. Throw me a bone here, I am tired. All. The. Time. If i wasn't pregnant I would think I had Epstein-Barre. I am still planning on going to respiratory school with my friend Nelsy, but dude, that is so far away. I need to keep up the motivation. It is either that or stick a fork in my eye whenever I go to work. Hmm which one is better?
It'll be a close one.

"Sandy" the tweeker was supposed to come back to work on Monday, but since I don't work again until Friday, I am gonna say she didn't. Just a guess. We took a poll of my co-workers, It was not in her favor that she would be reporting back. But hey she could surprise us all. Yeah right.

Well that is enough poison for now. Peace out y'all.

*WARNING* Totally Bitchy Work Rant.

I am so tired lately. I don't feel like doing anything. I think I have narcolepsy. My job totally sucks. That girl I blogged about some months ago, "Sandy" has been on a leave of absence, because the meth must have gotten to be too much for her....OK, I don't know for sure that she is on meth, but boy, she does exhibit all the signs of a tweeker. Anyhoo, they gave her a LOA. That put the NOC shift at my job short, but hey, management doesn't give a rats-ass about it. Suck it up bitches. Don't complain, be happy you have your job. Yeah right. The PM shift has one day where they will be short staffed and our joke of a manager posts it in the company email.."Please help the PM shift, they are going to be short" Did she do this for the NOC shift a month ago when the Tweek called in sick for 5 consecutive days, then got sent on LOA (oh, not because she wanted to mind you, but because she had to, she was given a referral to employee services as well, in other words, a social worker. I feel sorry for that guy.) Not only that but the leave keeps on getting extended. It just goes to show you that poor behavior, and a crappy work ethic will get you everything at my job. Sour grapes? You bet your ass.
As of now I am exploring my options. I think I am going to go back to school to become, *gasp* a respiratory therapist. The school costs a buttload, and I wouldn't start until next September, but they make a lot of cash. My Dad and Brother are RT's so I have been resisting it, but I can't any longer. Unless I want to continue to get butt-raped at my job, and let me assure you I do not, I have to do something. My poor mother.... in about three years she is going to have 3 RTs at the dinnertable on special occasions. Oh well what can you do?
Thanks all for listening to that hearty rant. I feel better now. I think I can sleep.

Today, You Are 21 Months Old.

 Posted by Picasa
I am glad I started to do this. I know, it is a rip off on what Dooce is doing for her adorable girl, But she didn't corner the market on writing to her child. Much props to her though, and I know I am nowhere near as witty.

Moving on.

Like I said, you are 21 months old today. Yesterday, you, Gramma, and I went out to give some of your clothes, mommys', Grammas', Tavias' and Jasmines' to the people who came from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Mommy and Daddy don't have much money, but we all had stuff to give so we did. You were a very good boy, as always. After we made that stop we went out to lunch. Our favorite thing. You were very particular about where you wanted your Sprite placed on the table in relation to your french fries and hamburger. You were also very careful about the dipping of your fries in ketchup.
After you finished, before we could leave, you had a whole conversation in jibberish
with a cute little girl, about the finer points of that weird wire and bead toy. You didn't seem to wanna leave, but were on a schedule and had no time to dally, even for cute chicks.

Last night Shonda came over with Jordan and Tyler. Boy, did you love to watch them play. They had fun making you laugh too. They jumped up and down for you and you tried and tried to jump too. You haven't quite gotten it yet but you will. You were trying so hard. It was adorable.

Yesterday also brought a new sound: bree bree bre then a noise that sounds like you are imitating radio static. New and interesting, that is for sure.

The latest disturbing thing though is those night terrors you have been having.. About once a week since cousin Adam had his birthday last month, you have been waking up in the middle of the night hysterical and inconsolable. The only thing that remedies this situation is taking you to bed with Mommy and Daddy. One morning, a couple of weeks ago, I came home from work to find you sleeping in the bed with Daddy. It was very cute, but there was no room for Mommy. You woke up again the night before the last. We brought you in to our room with us at about 0130. Your love of flinging yourself on pillows outweighed your desire to sleep, so you kept us awake for an hour. Finally, Daddy got frustrated and went on the couch to sleep and I decided to put you back in your own bed. After much whining and kicking your mattress, you fell asleep about an hour later. Yay.

 Posted by Picasa
Well, that is pretty much all the news that is fit to print this month, but I should mention that the gulf coast states had a horrible hurricane a couple of weeks ago, New Orleans is underwater, as well as Mississippi. It is terrible, and the governments response to all of it sucked, and now everyone is pointing fingers in all directions.

 Posted by Picasa
And this is what you were doing one year ago today... Grampa took you for your very first professional haircut. You were a very good boy, you didn't cry or freak out. This was a first and last for both. Every subsequent haircut you have had has been a nightmare. You cling on to Mommy or Daddy like a baby monkey for the duration of the haircut now. Go figure.
That is all for now, keep on rockin' Baby Style. I love you,
Momma

Aw, pillow boy

Posted by PicasaI cleaned and rearranged my garage a couple of weeks ago. I decided that Ayman could use it as a playroom. I laid down rugs, pillows and set out his Elmo couch and little patio chair. He has all of his push and ride toys out there as well as some other crap he wasn't playing with in his room. I think the change of venue made the toys more fun.

Reading is Fun....

Posted by PicasaHere is Ayman reading the book Auntie Cindy got him last year for Halloween. I read it to him today, and he was hypnotized. He took it away from me and started to "read" it by himself.

Biker Fun

Posted by PicasaHere he is on His Rock Roll & Ride Deluxe. He doesn't do too much rocking rolling or riding on it, but he loves to sit on it. He turns it on and off, on and off. The start up noise make him totally crack up for some reason, only known to him.

HBO: Six Feet Under - Obituary

Ok, I don't know how many of you all watch this show, but I love it. The series finale was on Sunday and I wept copiously. Really, I did. I watched again last night and did much of the same. I have to say though that it was such a satisfying ending to a great show. I kept wondering how they would wrap it up, and thinking to myself, I hope they have a movie or something to let us know how these lives turn out.... The last ten minutes were awesome. I love that it was wrapped up, SOLID. I am trying not to drop any spoilers here, but let us say I am not left wondering. I only miss the characters now. I was telling my mom, after she watched it, that I felt like someone died. I guess that is probably what they were going for.

Now for some fun, click on the link to view the obituaries.

MMMMM....Corny.

Posted by PicasaThat baby loves corn on the cob. Last time he ate it, I didn't take a picture, but this time I was prepared. He is so cute. Not biased.
Okay, so today is Aymans 20 month mark. Wow time flies when you are sleep deprived and half retarded from the boggling things your child does.

Hey Baby, you are 20 months old today. It was pretty much like any other mommy day at home, you watched teletubbies, had to stand in the corner, ate some Cherrios and went to the store with mommy. You also got into her root beer. Mommy should know better by now, because this isn't the first time that you have done something like this, but mommy has a thick skull, and sometimes it takes a while for things to sink in. You still don't talk all that much yet, but as gramma says " Maybe he doesn't have anything to say" I think that may be it. You sure are babbling a lot though, these days. You imitate Daddy by walking around the house holding just about anything up to your ear, pretending like you are on the cell phone. The funny thing though, when anyone does talk to you on th e phone you shove it away like it is gonna bite. You say 'ah' for "no" in Arabic (which is la'ah) and point your finger at the same time, Just like mama and Daddy. You also say DaDa, and BaBa for daddy, not a bottle and on occasion, when pressed will say MaMa. I think you are trying to say gramma by saying NaNa sometimes. For Petie, you scream. When you see Grampa you scream because Petie is almost always with him. When you walk up to Grampas house you scream in the front window for Petie, and he knows it is you. You guys are great friends, kinda. You love him--He steers clear of you. You have met two new friends recently, Tavia and Jasmine, and we have been going swimming at grammas with them. You really didn't like the pool too much the first time you went in, and the second time you went--you fell asleep in your floatie thing, but by the third time you were pretty professional at it. You just don't like it when momma surprises you and dunks you under water real fast, and I can't blame you. I just don't want you to be scared of the water. Let me tell you a secret- Your Daddy can't swim to good. You need to swim better than that and mommy can, and she will teach you. Speaking of Daddy, he take s you out every night for a walk around the neighborhood. Tonight he told me that you are getting very famous around here. He says that the neighbors all wave at you when they pass by in their cars, or when you go by their houses. How can you not be famous as sweet as you are? Okay, it is very late, and momma wants to sleep. Just know, as I am sure you do, because I tell you every day a million times I love you baby.
Momma
