The Dillhole Has Left the Building.

What a tool. Posted by Picasa
I am so glad that jerk Stephen Asprinio got eliminated off of Top Chef tonight. I do realize this may seem like a retarded post. I love this show, and i hated that jag-off. I hope he takes his hoity ass on home to Vegas and promptly gets fired from everthing he tries to do. What a condescending a-hole.
Other than that, I am all for Lee Ann to win. Anyone else wanna weigh in?

What the....?

Posted by PicasaThis baby cracks me up. She is not froggy at all like most babies. Here, we have her sleeping on our bed. Amr took this picture while watching the Kings game. She was kickin' it with him for a bit, while the boy sat on my lap and watched Blues Clues.

Shhhhh....

Posted by PicasaHere we have the garden variety newborn female in her natural larval state. After having fed she is sated and ready to process the nourishment in a short sleep cycle. During this cycle it is not uncommon to hear rumblings similar to the adult of the species, coming from the bowels. If not attended to in a timely manner these rumblings can be the precursor to a disgusting mess that requires adult attendance to change its soft outer shell of onesie and sleeper.

Oh Good and Knowledgeable Readers....

Can anyone give me some tips on potty training the boy? I am gently attempting this right now. Here is some info, about my style.
We don't use a potty chair, but do use steps up to the toilet ( not for lack of trying, the potty chairs opening is too small, my son has a hubba hubba hiney, and i don't want him pissing all over the place, since that piece of crap deflector doesn't stay on the seat). So far when he poops in his pants, I take him in the bathroom and put poop in the toilet and have him flush it.
When I catch him going to his pooping place (behind an overstuffed chair. I always see him from his eyes up.) I ask, "Do you have poo poo?" and his response to this is always "Poo Poo?" Like he has no idea what i am talking about. Riiiight. Then, I take him to the bathroom and set him on the toilet and say over and over, "poo poo, go poo poo, here is where we poop" and that kind of stuff over and over. He thinks I am nuts, I'm sure. But that is it. Any kind of advice on this would totally be appreciated.
Cass out.
P.S. the only thing I got on spell check today was: poop poop poo poo hubba hubba and hiney. hahahahaha

No, I Didn't Croak....

I am here and alive. Getting the hang of the two child thing. Jennah is a good baby, but then again she is still in that "larval" stage, where she is eating ,sleeping or pooping. I am not as sleep deprived as I thought I would be, but then again, I haven't gone back to work yet. That happens on the 29th of April. Crap. I am over the hump so to speak with the breastfeeding, and looking forward to the next growth spurt she will have (incidentally, that should be occurring right around the time I go back to work.)
The first week of April Ayman got Rotovirus, and spent a couple of days in the pediatric ward at the hospital I work at. It really sucked, folks. He started out spiking a temp, then the next night, it was vomiting and a fever, and in the day, he couldn't keep anything down, so off to the hospital he went. He was traumatized, but Amr was a helluva Dad, and stayed there with him the whole time. I couldn't be there and it totally upset me, but it was soooo contagious, and who wants a newborn with rotovirus? I am just irritated about it because I know that Ayman had to have gotten this from the Mall playground. 75% of his childhood illnesses to date have come from that petri dish. I am sure that the environmental services staff is super conscientious about cleaning the equipment. Needless to say we got past that. It sucked though. Ok, I thought I would have more time for this, but the princess beckons. I must do her bidding, now that the milk machine is revved up.

I look like crap. Posted by Picasa

Hygiene Can Be Scary

Jennah got her first bath at home last night. It was traumatic to say the least. I wish I could say it made her sleep better, but things were the same. I have the night shift with Jennah right now, and Amr has the day shift with Ayman. I don't even want to think about next Monday when he goes back to work.

Okay, Here Is The Deal.

Last week, when I went to my doctors appointment, they set a scheduled induction date for me--Wednesday the 15th. I just didn't publish it here because I didn't want to jinx it. Today, I went to the doctor again and it seems like the time is right for that induction. So here it is, The Official Word: I will be reporting to the hospital I work at tomorrow, at around seven pm to give this girl the ole' heave ho. So, if you don't see anything for a few days, you know I am in a state of shock and awe and haven't had time to blog my experience. I will return though. To be sure.

At least you all didn't have to see my mucous plug.

A Pregnant Lady in All Her Pregnant Glory

Here are pictures of me huge, taken for posterity at my baby shower. The shower was given to me by my sister in law Renee, and my mom, Cindy. It was a great day, and I am very thankful to the both of them for doing something so special.

BTW, people, I go to the doctor tomorrow (after yet another pedicure) I guess we will see if the walking I have been doing has helped me out any.

Ugh.

Today has really sucked over here on the pregnancy front. My back, is KILLING me. I have been uncomfortable all day. The baby is trying to kick her way out of me, Alien style. I was pretty concerned earlier this evening, so I had my girlfriend check with L and D at our hospital. They told me to, and I am serious here, take two Tylenol and call them later. They also wanted me to drink 32 oz of water, just in case what I am experiencing is dehydration. So I did this. The nurse also told me that if the contractions come 3-4 minutes apart for one hour to come on in. This whole pregnancy is very different than with Ayman. I don't know what to make of it. Oh well, I will do as I am told, and see what happens. I will keep every one posted to be sure.

Also today, at Amrs job they gave him a surprise baby shower. They all chipped in and gave him a 200 dollar gift card and a cake. I thought that was soooo nice. He said that his boss told him that she needed to speak to him in the conference room when he came back from his afternoon break. Everyone was in there with the cake and they all said "Surprise!" Amr still didn't get that it was a surprise for him, they had to tell him, "No, Amr, it is for you, the surprise is for you." So he really was surprised. Cool.

It's reaaalllly ON now.

I went to the doctor yesterday, and we will be inducing my labor next week. WOO HOO!
So, until then I will be walking. And walking. And walking. I had a semi encouraging cervical exam, (open fingertip, I guess better than nothing) So, I walk. And vacuum. Do some squats. Maybe a few Jumping jacks.... Still haven't packed my bag for the hospital yet, but the babies' bed came and that is now good to go as well.

Now, we wait.

Can you see her?

Baby picture! Posted by PicasaShe is facing you, on her side. During the ultrasound i saw her lick her lips as well as the amniotic sac.

The news is in....

We had the ultra sound this morning. The baby weighs between 7lbs 12 oz-14oz. Goodness, that is nearly eight pounds. How do I do this? We got to see her face really well, and as soon as my darling brother scans the pictures and sends them to me, I will share with you all out there too. And finally, last but not least, we found out FOR Sure, 100% NO Doubt that it is a little girl. I trust my ob's PA, and all, but her ultrasound machine is like, 100 years old. Today, I saw little girl parts. TOTALLY. Whew. I would have had a lot of returning to do.
So now I just finish nesting. The cosleeper is on the way, the baby closet is organized. Now for the stroller/car seat (or travel system, if you will) I also need to pack for the hospital, but I think I will leave that undone. Or not, I don't know, my brain is mush at this point. Ok signing off for now, I have a munchkin in the tub that needs a toothbrushing.

So I am Huge, You Got A Problem With That?

Tomorrow morning I go for an ultrasound to establish an EFW, or estimated fetal weight. Apparently they are concerned that this baby will be too big to squeeze out. Hey, I am concerned too! I did the last one at 9 lbs and that was no joke, people! But hey, he came out ok, with only a minimal conehead. I am concerned that his one will be too big to get out the regular way and may require surgery. I am hoping not. I would rather not break her little collarbone on the way out either. So, ultrasound it is, tomorrow morning bright and early. Thank goodness I don't have to drink the standard 32 ounces of water, because I can barely drink 2 ounces of water at this point. Wish me luck, and I will keep y'all posted.

Thirty days to go!

My due date is in 30 days. I can't believe this pregnancy is drawing to a close. I keep thinking, "Oh, I can't wait until this baby is born, so I can get some quality sleep."
HA HA! (Nelson from the Simpsons laugh)
Then I remember: if the pregnancy is over, I will have a little creature to nurse every 3 hours. Crap! Breastfeeding is totally efficient though, so I should be able to stay lazy for a couple of days before I go back to chasing a toddler as well. I hope the baby comes before the due date. She is huge already, and very assertive with her feet and elbows. All I know is the epidural will be happening, because I am not stupid. I wanna have the baby, I don't need to be a hero. Bring on the spinal drugs!
My baby shower is on Saturday, and it will be given by my mom and sister-in law Renee. (I have the greatest sis-in-law, people! Seriously. Mom too, for that matter.) The RSVP action has been sluggish, so I don't know how many people are really coming but it will be cool no matter what.
Tomorrow is pregnant lady beautification day. I will be going for my facial/neck waxing and pedicure. Super sweet! Maybe I should forget about the pedicure and get a Brazilian wax YEEEOOOOOOOWCHHH! But, hey I would be super smooth! I could even get a kooky hair configuration. You know, like a heart, mohawk or smurf (just kidding about the last one.)I think I am going to look into that. Maybe I could get a pedicure next week. I think I may be going insane to even entertain that thought.
Stay tuned folks for more disgusting pregnancy observations, and I will make sure to let you know when we see the good ole' mucus plug (hahahahahahah that is just gross, but I promise I won't take a picture of it. Ok, I won't make a promise I can't keep, but I am relatively sure I won't photograph it and post it on this site.)
Having a blog when you are pregnant sure is cool (the internet shudders....)

Grooming and Hygiene of Pregnant Women

Well I got my hair highlighted yesterday,(I used my xmas present that my dad gave me-- a 100 dollar gift card for Regis hairstylists, totally expensive, man!) so I got that going for me. This week I will be going to get a pedicure and a waxing as well. I looked in the rear view mirror of my car last week and found some appalling hair sticking out of my chin and neck.... Hello! This took a while to happen, people! How come nobody told me? I mean, one of those billy goat hairs was like, an inch long! Holy crap! It just didn't pop out over night, it had to grow. That takes time. I guess it is my fault for A.) Not looking at my double chin (I guess if I don't look at it, it means it isn't' there) and 2.) Not checking those suspect areas in the first place. Speaking of suspect areas-- (and male relatives from Egypt, stop reading now please, I am about to talk about pregnant woman stuff you just don't need to read--) I finally took a look at my so-called "bikini area" (like I will ever wear a bikini again, for several reasons, fatness only being like the second one) I look like a Sasquatch. I actually envisioned that picture of Bigfoot, you know the one....

oh yeah, that's it. Posted by Picasa
I totally forgot about that area. Not now though. I am going to try to come up with some way I can prune some of that back. I am not very optimistic though, due to the fact I can barely put on my shoes and socks. This odyssey will be over soon though, and I will be in for a whole host of other things to bitch and moan about. Anyway, I will sign off now, and think about some more undesirable crap I can post on this blog. I'll get back to ya later.

A Rebuttal To My Previous Post....

My cousin read my blog and had this rebuttal. I thought I would post it in the interest of fairness.

"Yes Cassie for your info I do read your blog and if that is how you feel about me well no sweat off my brow. And also for your info I did not have a bunion I had a bone spur so get your facts correct .And since were being so blunt I don't call your kid for his birthday well I have a kid too, goes both ways. And as far as all the Holidays go those were things that did come up and what is it to you anyways Our so called Family Christmas isn't Christmas it's all about who brings the good gifts. Lets get real about what a family Chritsmas means, to me it means getting together having a dinner and just enjoying each other. But with our family it just isn't that way. And I know for a fact that all of you talk about me and My Dad I've known that for years but I just go and play the game you all do, be nice to there face, talk about them when they leave. It's been this way in our family all of my life and let's be honest with each other you and I have never seen eye to eye. I don't really care what any of you think about me because I will live my life anyway I want. And if I don't want to attend a Family function ,well that is my right. Well like you quoted in your long ass letter about me I feel so much better to get this off my chest"

*****Cass here, wanting to add that I have never talked trash on Alicias dad. The man has a good heart, and can fight his own battles. I am hoping anyone who reads this, that is in my family, will allow Alicia and I to have our own differences and not jump in. Thanks.*****
