Art Appreciation

 Posted by Picasa

Yesterday, Ayman was laid down for his nap at about 3 pm. I tried to put him down later because for the last week he has been playing in his crib, talking to himself, banging on the wall, and basically doing everything but sleeping. Then I will usually check on him an hour after I put him down and walk into a wall of stink when I open the door. For some reason he enjoys taking a dump about an hour after I lay him down. So today, laid him down a little earlier thinking maybe he is just too tired when I put him down. Same exact thing. an hour after I put him down, I walk into turd town. My husbands theory is that while he is playing he doesn't want to poop, so he waits until he has the time, while he is cooped up in the crib. I really don't know what to think. I am trying not to think that perhaps he doesn't want to take th e nap anymore, which could be the case. But you know, naptime is also mommy time so he is gonna have to chill in there for a couple of hours. I don't care what he is doing as long as it is in his crib and semi quietly. I hate to think of him without an afternoon nap with the new baby on the way. *shudder*
So back to the story, when he wouldn't take his nap yesterday, I decided he would do something constructive when he woke up. I taped some paper to the table and gave him all the crayons I could find and one ink pen. Guess what was his favorite? Can you tell from his face? The ink pen. He has an aqua doodle that has a harmless water pen to draw with and he is always applying that like lipstick to himself whenever he picks it up. Well, he did the same with the ink pen, not so harmless. I was cracking up so hard that it encouraged him to do it more, and this is what I got. But I do think he had fun with art time.

Dammit, there is another mouse in my kitchen. In the last week I have killed 2 mice in the kitchen and I believe there is another. Oh well, I know what gets them now....Peanut butter and rice krispies. MMMMM mousie death.

Well that is all. Miss Lori- if you are reading- they had that woman who dressed as a man for the year on CNN today.... I couldn't watch it, it would get me all fired up. She sure was manish enough though.

Ladies Night Out.

All of us, L-R Payal, Sheryl, Christina, Me, Nelsy and Shelly. Posted by Picasa

My friend Nelsy had a birthday recently. We (the ladies I work with) finally got our collective stuff together and were able to go out and celebrate. So, we left the men a children behind and headed on to El Torito for some fine Mexican dining and margaritas. (of course I had no margarita, Muslim and baby and all.) A good time was had by all and we took a couple of pictures. Happy Birthday Nelsy!

same crew once more, Sheryl is taking the picture. Posted by Picasa

It's About Time

Yesterday it was back to the OB doc to check on this baby. Two weeks ago it was in the breech position, so they were keeping an eye on me. Anyhoo, the good news is the baby is back in a normal head down position. I was 30 weeks and 4 days yesterday, and guess what? We finally got to see the sex! WOO HOO! I am having a girl! a girl a girl a girl a girl a girl a girl a girl a girl bil arabi, Bint! Finally after god knows how many ultrasounds and that little critter crossing her legs or giving us her back, yesterday, we got a good look, and it is indeed a little girl (or we can just say girl, because if she is like Ayman she will come out the size of a three month baby, not little at all.)
As you can see I am totally excited about this.

Ok, Crap. I mean that literally. Ayman is walking around here totally stinking up the place so I guess that is my cue to sign off, but I just wanted to share this awesome news.

Oh Lovely.

On Monday morning I was feeling more uncomfortable than usual. Tossing and turning in bed, being short of breath, refluxing and then finally, having that feeling you get in your face before you are going to hurl. I didn't hurl but I was really freaked out so I called the doctor and went in. Needless to say, before I even got to get dressed for the appointment, I had a bad bout of diarrhea. TMI, right? Turns out somehow I got food poisoning. I deteriorated so fast from there it was scary. So, long story short, my OB sent me to the hospital. I was there from Monday night at about 6pm until 1130 today. They gave me 8 bags of fluids, and 40meq's of potassium IV. It was so much fun lemme tell ya. Thankfully, I am all better now and at home with my little monkey, who is really jabbering away these days. He stayed with gramma for the two days I was in the hospital. Let me take this time right now to say Thank You Mom, for helping us out I can't imagine what we would have done without all your help. Well, I really just wanted to record this event for posterity, since, aside from the birth of my son and my own own birth it was the only time I have been in the hospital.

I need a nap.

Um, What Are You Doing?

After Aymans bath, when he was dressed and all cute a good smelling, he went to the back of the house to play around Amr. About five minutes later, Amr is asking me: "Do you need these? Because the baby is playing with them." I hoisted my girth off of the couch and went back to see what he was talking about and found this scene greeting me:

Posted by Picasa OK, this is a Kodak Moment.
I would like to also add that while we were getting ready to get in the shower he was standing next to the toilet, grabbing the seat with both hands, and pretending to spit in to it, and wiping his mouth. Then he would make hawking sounds like he was coming up with a loogie. All this from watching me get sick! He is such a little mimic. On Friday, I got sick while I was getting ready for work, and he was right there along side of me, spitting in the toilet too.
I guess a family that pukes together stays together.... That is what they say isn't it?
