Wow, I suck at blogging these days.

I have too much stuff going on. Anyone who knows me knows this. Now add to this a total addiction for the show nip/tuck, and the fact that i have downloaded seasons one thru three onto my computer, and school is getting harder, you can figure out something will suffer somewhere. I can promise you now that i will post awesome pictures of the kids from Halloween, and probably the Eid celebration, which is tommorow. I do have a nice pic of Jennah and Ayman in the tub that i will post tonight. Jennah ran past me to get to the bathroom. I thought she would be waiting for me when I got in there, but she had already gotten in the tub. In her clothes and diaper. It weighed as much as her. She is a nut.
Here is what is new around me.

  • Ayman says "no" way too much

  • Jennah says "no" way too much

  • I have lost 20lbs since august.

  • I have a 3.87 gpa

  • there are 74 alumni from the class of 89 on my myspace reunion page.

  • I am putting off listening to the last disc of "The Time Travellers wife" because I know it ends badly (damn, it Wikipedia).

  • My dad teaches at my school now.

Playground fun, Firehouse Storytime

She is is too much.

Ayman, having a great time at the playground.

Playing nice together for once.....

Ayman, got to ride in the fire truck, for about 20 feet.

They gave out "helmets"after the tour.

So on Monday, I took the kids to the park for a bit. They played like crazy for about 40 minutes. Then unbeknownst to Ayman, we walked over to the nearby fire station for a Storytime sponsored my the Stockton library. We were the first ones there, so the rookie fireman (very nice guy) let Ayman sit in the fire truck, and even drove him from the garage onto the driveway, Woo Hoo! The library lady read some books, the same rook fireman donned all of his gear, and showed the kids what firemen look like when they have to go in to a fire. He also made a point several times to remind the boys and girls to not run away or hide from the firemen if they come to fight a fire. I thought that was smart. They got to see where the firemen eat sleep and watch tv, then at the end of the tour, they handed our fire hats and sticker "badges" When it was time to go, Ayman did not want to, and tried to stay by holding on to the flag pole. It didn't work. When we got home, he flopped down on the couch and promptly passed out.
It was a good day for the both of them.
Today however, was not a good day for Jennah. She had an eighteen month check up and was the lucky recipient of 5-count 'em- 5 shots. The first one, she didn't notice really. the second placed a puzzling look on her face, the third stuck her bottom lip out, the fourth, well the fourth made her cry and then finally, the fifth made her do the O-so-sad, and somewhat scary, silent scream. The situation was quickly rectified with a Strawberry Shortcake sticker. I hooked her up with some M&Ms, and McDonalds, and she was good to go. When I came home from school tonight though, Amr told me she was walking funny. Poor baby, she was. she won't walk. when she does it is only like 2 steps, and they are stiff leg steps- no bending at the knee. I hope she is better tommorow- It maybe my fault though, I forgot to rub her thighs after the shots. Bad Mommy. I was busy hugging her and forgot to. I suck. Well I started a new module tonight and I actually have homework, so I think i am gonna be a good girl and do that.

A new friend

So, I got on the bus to buckle Ayman in this morning. The little boy that is in his class, Dante, wasn't in the seat he usually sits in. I was about to buckle Ayman in, and noticed Dante was sitting in the seat behind. I said "There you are, Dante" Ayman looked at me, and immediately stood up, and moved to sit next to Dante. It appears he has made a friend at school. Last time I took him to the preschool, Ayman ran in ahead of me, hung up his book bag, and ran to wash his hands and sit for his lunch. When Dante came in, Ayman stood up and yelled at him, "Dante, Come on and eat your lunch!"

I am totally loving the effects of preschool on my boy.

My son is blossoming

So, some folks know I had Ayman evaluated for speech delay, and he was found to have one, so he is in a special pre-k class. In this class he gets to do regular preschool stuff, plus work with speech therapists, and stuff like that. Every year, we will meet in June and discuss his progress. This past June was our first such meeting. The team of wonderful teachers at XXXXXXXX XXXXXXX Elementary suggested that Ayman be enrolled in general education preschool. So, I did. Now, instead of going to school from 830-1130, he goes from 830 (the bus picks him up at 730) until 230 when his sister and i go to pick him up. At preschool they sing, eat lunch, go to the library and play, play, play. He loves it. With the exception of a rough start going pee at school (he used to hold it until he got home when he only had the morning class) he is adjusting way better than I expected. In the short two weeks he has been back at school, he is talking more, asking questions, singing, and playing more than ever before. He actually says hello to people, when before he was too shy to do it. He initiates. It is awesome. I am really loving getting to see this growth my son is going through. That is what is really all about right? Watching your kids grow up, and become their own person, suceed, (and of course some failure) and enjoy thier lives. I am loving it. I find myself asking my husband about what Ayman did that evening when I come home from school. He does some funny unexpected things sometimes. Yesterday he flopped down on the couch and went "PHWEW!" while wiping his hand across his forehead. Where does he get that stuff? Then of course there is the polar opposite that is his sister Jennah. Where Ayman was always careful and deliberate, Jennah kind of barrels through things. She climbs like a mountain goat and is very chatty. She loves to dress up in a dish towel cape and under pants on her head, with hair elastics on her wrists as bracelets. She lets me do her hair in elaborate works, for an 18 month old she can really sit still better than I would expect. Of course, there is the awesome stuff she does, just to piss Ayman off, which makes me crazy. I realize that is just payback for how my brother and I were though, so I have to let that go. I guess I just wanted to get this down. I have been neglecting the blog lately, with all my other crap going on, I have a lot of balls in the air right now, probably more than I should. My mom and i were talking about it and we decided this is the stuff that should really get written down. So here it is.
Totally unrelated, but I have lost 10 pounds or so in the last couple of weeks. Good times.

Oh yeah, post #400!

And of course i am copping out an just putting up some pics from this weekend on the boat-

Dad cleaned it up, changed the oil and put it in the water for the first time this summer. We went out and had a nice picnic. A good time was had by all. Of course i totally ate it getting of the boat- didn't have my sea legs or something....so i have a beatiful keepsake in the form of a huge bruise on my butt, and abrasions on my ankle and both knees. NICE. I like the way Jennah looks in her life preserver. No Neck City.there is also Aymans first day of school, and, Introducing: Jennah Nasr as Captain Underpants, in addition to the requisite self portrait. You know what? I have had my braces on for a year! that means only eight more months or less to go! Holy Jeez, some kooks are claiming Jesus's profile is in a knot of wood on a fence in Lodi. Go figure. Well, time to post and go out to the bike....

Buzz Cut

So this is what his hair ended up looking like. Much more even than yesterday. Like the look on his face? He is trying not to poop in the tub, actually he is just trying not to poop.

I told him he would have to be shaved as bald as Uncle Alex, but it isn't quite that short.

Despite his cold, he seems to be pretty chipper. And after this picture, he went poop, so all in all it was a pretty productive day.

Of course, we have to take a picture of Sissy too.

Kind of back from my break.

Notice anything in this picture?

Anything yet?

How about that gap in Aymans bangs? If you look at the top picture, you also notice some divits on top. You guessed it, Ayman gave himself a haircut.

Thank goodness he didn't cut Jennahs hair.
Stay tuned tomorrow for Ayman's buzzcut.

Suck It, Slowpokes.

I think this picture speaks for itself. No, it does NOT say I am a gigantic nerd. OK, it might, but so what? I am so reading this this weekend.....

P.S. Thanks, Dad.

Pennies and pincurls

Gene gave Ayman a piggy bank in the shape of a Cintas truck yesterday. Complete with about 300 pennies. for fun we emptied them out and let the kids play. What choking hazard? So what if Jennah is pooping out pennies like a change machine for two days, she had fun.

It kept Jennah so occupied that i was able to put pincurls in her hair. She looked so cute with her hair all pinned up....

Then Ayman gave her a hug and kiss like a nice brother. Unfortunately, Jennah had a different plan as far as pincurls and bedtime went. she wouldn't go to bed. I finally got her to sleep by midnight. It was ridiculous. she had thrashed around in her crib so much, that most of the pincurls came out. Oh well i will try again some other time, eventually she will get used to the process of "suffering for beauty".

Fireworks fun

Jennah went to her second 4th of July fireworks this year. While the display sucked this year for reasons not worth going into, the kids had a good time.

Auntie Renee bought some cinnamon bears, and the kids couldn't get enough of them.

here is Jennah rolling aound on a blanket before she eats ANOTHER cinnamon bear.

Almost dark, time for another cinnamon bear.

Jennah enjoys her water and cookie right before the fireworks start.

Fun with sunglasses

Amr got Jennah some sunglasses at the 99 cent store. She loves them. She has this little clear purse. She carries beads, a cell phone, and an assortment of little trinkets. Animals letters Diego figures. She is a real kick. She is loving the Backyardigans right now. She actually dances when the theme song plays. It is really too cute.

Then she has this crazy smile. She is so funny when she does it, because she gets really excited.

Ayman found some sunglasses in a backpack Auntie Cindy gave him over a year ago. So both kids are styling with the shades. He has been going to school four days a week for the summer session. He is just like I was. He does not want to get up in the morning. "No school Mommy!" But he goes, and is happy, and doing great. I have really noticed a difference in the last couple of weeks. He is actively trying to talk in sentences, and enunciate his words. He will be going to school all day long at the end of August.
Right now both kids are standing at the window, pounding on the screen (probably not a good idea) yelling "ICE CREAM TRUCK!" Well, Ayman is yelling it, and Jennah is standing next to him shouting in jibberish. Because why? The Ice Cream truck just drove by, of course.
I am doing well in school . After my last module was complete, I have a 4.0, the highest in the class. So I got that going for me right? Also, i nutted up and paid for Classmates.com, and have been lighting it up. Love that stuff. Since not all people want to pay for that site I made a Myspace page for my high schools graduating class. It only has a 14 members, but everyone is participating with it and we have a ton of pictures posted. It is awesome. I love seeing pictures other people have from that time. So there ya go, that is what has been up for the last ten days...Oh yeah, I finally got a new cell phone! Now i can call the future and not the past! My phone was so old, I think it was the one Jesus used. Also, I have been burning up the internet with Daphne, on a nightly basis. I miss her being close to me, so this is almost as good. I am still trying to scale down my ass, and i feel better, actually. I just need to do some physical activity. I guess something is always better than nothing.
Well, i am outta here. If you find this post boring, perhaps you would like something more like this? or maybe this?

Late for fathers day

Here is my Dad and Amr. We went to Auntie Ne Ne's Graduation party at her brothers house. It was alot of fun.

And, Jennah here, geting in touch with her hammy side. she is wearing her Daddys sunglasses and sitting on Genes lap. She was all diva'd out.

Here is my bro with Jennah. This is her first time in a big pool.
Alex was so good with her. She seemed a little scared at first but she didn' t cry, and had a good time. She really slept well that night.

After Aymans initial fake crying, he really enjoyed the pool. Alex pulled him around a bit, scred him, made him cry and basically helped him get used to the pool. He crashed that night too. Lesson here? Kids+swimming=good nights sleep.

Idle hands

This pictue is blurry but so sweet. I had just pulled the pacifier out of her mouth. it was right after i found this....

OK, here is the story. I was sitting at the barstools, with my back to the kids, who were on the floor in the dining room. Ayman kept on going "Pfffttt......hahahahaha" and Jennah "hehehehe" this went on for like two minutes before i turned around. When i did, i found Ayman had taken some loose powder, and was blowing into it, causing- Well, this.

Totally my bad.

Disregard the fact that my puntuation is nonexistent

Last night i couldn't sleep. Not only was it damn hot, i just couldnt sleep. I went to bed at 0130. at 0300 i gave up and read some email, then went back to bed. At 0410- still awake. finally i got to sleep then something woke me up at around 0730 and guess what ? i have been up ever since. Sheesh. I think when Jennah wakes up i am gonna take them for a walk up to the store to get some lipliner and a can of tiny shrimp. I am going to make Shrimp Louie for dinner.
Could this post be any more boring? I guess I could talk about my period or something. Naaah. Jennah said thank you to me yesterday. Today I am signing up Ayman for general education preschool to go with the special education preschool he also goes to. He is off this week but next week he starts going 4 days a week. I am still trying to decide if i want him evaluated for autism. I am scared of him being labeled for the rest of his life. The special education teachers are not even sure if what is going on with him is autism either- they always talk about "splintered skill sets" he knows all of his abc' colors, numbers, can cross a line at midline, but then some basic things he doesn't do. Or the fact that he repeats things ALOT. 3 1/2 year olds do repeat. I dunno, I guess i am in a mild state of denial. It is just that i have seen so much improvement in the time that he has been in preschool- 6 months that i am at a "wait and see" phase right now. He was only gong 2 days a week. Let's see what the 4 days, and then 5 days starting in August, coupled with the general ed preschool will do for him. I guess. hmmmmph.
ranting, ranting. I have started a multi faceted approach to thinning my fat ass down- eat less, eat more fruit and veggies, less crap, no regular soda, more water and exersise, then if needed dabble in bulimia. I think it will work.
so there you have it rants of a sleep deprived mother of 2....
thanks for taking the time.
ps oh, that kid. he just smoked past me and went into is room, and closed the door. that means poop time. if that kid doesn't turd i am bulking up his gatorade with benefiber.

New haircut

It is time to get a haircut when you can't remember when you last had one. And, when all you do is plop it on top of your head in a rubberband. That is what I have been doing for like, 2 years. (I think) Anyway. The woman cut my hair and styled it all Farrah Fawcett-y. Ugh, I had to come right home and re-do it, then take pictures to send to my friend Daphne, (choo choo choose you, baby) and post on my Myspace page and here. Damn, I am pathetic.

Jennah has a new favorite thing....This Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles stocking cap. She puts it on and walks all over the house with it, sometimes pulled all the way down over her eyes. She is still loving beads of any kind. Now she loves spoons as well, and actually fed herself a spoonfull of cocopuffs this morning. After that, she turned into the devil and proceeded to cry ALL DAY LONG. Nothing would make her happy. When her daddy got home, she started bawling harder than she was before, when she was following me around the house. Can I just say I couldn't leave for school fast enough today? Yikes.

Here is my boy getting ready for bed in his wifebeater style undershirt. He is so funny. He thinks I am funny too. And Gramma, and Grampa and sometimes even Daddy.
P.s. Yesterday, Jennah and I were out front waiting for my dad to come and get all of us for dinner. When my dad got out of his truck, Jennah said "Graaaay-paaahh" Seriously, clear as a bell. How cool is that?

Thursday, May 31, 2007

melancholy or something.

Sorry I haven't written. There are going to be times when it is like this. I am feeling depressed, and not myself lately. I can't really go into it. I am just not me. This will probably pass, so i am just going to try and let it go for now, and focus on my family and school. So there you have it, to recap- ME=blah.
Oh yeah, I made the honor roll at school. Big whoop.

Jennah wears a bikini-Ayman watches, fun ensues

Well, she isn't shy.

Dripping water action shot.

"Umm, I'm not happy enough to play with the fountain, I must get in it"

Ayman can't belive his eyes as Jennah tries to get out of the fountain.

Monday, May 14, 2007

Here are some pictures I snapped of Jennah and Ayman on Saturday. I had to put them because as my brother put it, "the school stuff is boring." I don't think it is and it is my blog, soooooo whatever. I will try to ease the boredom with pics of the kids.

Thursday, May 10, 2007

alright, I just don't know what to expect from myself.

Soooooo, we had our final in A&P on Wednesday, as I mentioned before. I really didn't feel too great about my performance on the test. It was 250 regular questions, 30 extra credit questions, and the whole shabang was worth 283, I dont know where the extra three points came from, but that is what the teacher told us today. I usually mark the questions down that I had to guess, or that I wasn't too sure about. I counted 30 marks on the paper, and changed like five of my answers.
Out of a possible 283 points, I got.... 283 points.
HOLY CRAP!!!!!!
I finished my first class with a 98.8%
I can't stop smiling to myself.
Now, I just have to get thru the math portion. I suck at math, and I think math sucks. So, there ya go.
Sorry my posts have really been crappy, I am surprised I can even find the time to make posts at all. I probably wouldn't but, Ilhamdulillah, I quit that horrible job.

ugh, i think i blew it.

I had my final today. i have no idea what i got. Going into it i had the highest grade in the class. I have a feeling It wont be that way as of tomorrow...but what the hell. I got my new books.. It is gonna suuuuuuuck. crap
to be continued.....
